At this years Rubber & Plastics Exhibition, JCTIMES not only showcased its industry-leading technologiesincluding the precision intelligent integrated die series and coating die seriesbut also broke through spatial limitations by livestreaming the event, enabling more viewers to engage and interact in real time online.

The livestream viewership exceeded expectations, with the Face-to-Face with Industry Expertssegment alone receiving over 500,000 likes, earning widespread praise from

professionals across the industry.

Highlights of the Live Broadcast

On the first day of the exhibition, JCTIMESstar hostsMr. Li, Kangkang, and Benbenled viewers on an in-depth tour of leading cast film, blown film, and sheet equipment manufacturers within the venue. With an immersive experience, the live broadcast captured the latest industry innovations and technological trends.

Through real-time interactions with equipment manufacturers, the audience gained valuable insights into the newest production processes and directly observed how JCTIMES dies are applied in actual manufacturing scenarios. This collaborative approach across the industrial chain demonstrated how efficient synergy can optimize production resources. Even amid a highly competitive market environment, this strategy enables manufacturers to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Industry Experts Discuss the Future

On the second day of the exhibition, we were honored to sit down with two industry heavyweights: Mr. Liang Bin from JCTIMES and Mr. Cheng Fanbao from Sichuan Dongcai. Together, they engaged in an insightful and accessible discussion on how to break through and innovate in the high-end film industry.

Below are some highlights from their thought-provoking Q&A session.

Question 1: What is the current status of the BOPET industry and what are its technical challenges?

Answer:

Globally, the BOPET (biaxially oriented polyester film) industry is developing rapidly, with China now leading in production capacity. However, the industry is also facing intense homogeneous competition. The market is still mainly focused on packaging applications, with additional use in photovoltaic back sheets. Yet, breakthroughs in higher-end product applications remain limited.

Many outstanding domestic companies have been making significant efforts, and some of their products have already replaced those of benchmark enterprises. These benchmark players can be grouped into three tiers: companies from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and mainland China. There is still considerable potential for import substitution, especially in truly high-end sectors.

Question 2: How can production lines achieve domestic substitution?

Answer:

In the case of overcapacity, to produce differentiated products, it is essential to have differentiated equipment configurations. Domestic production lines are primarily equipped with European-made machines, but significant progress has been made in recent years in the supply of key equipment. Imported equipment is generally standardized, and it is not that foreign manufacturers cannot produce differentiated products, but rather that many domestic companies fail to propose differentiated requirements. Once our production lines are localized, we will be able to communicate more closely with our customers, integrate relevant experiences, and configure specialized production lines with unique characteristics.

Answer:

Three and a half years ago, we couldnt buy imported die heads. After communicating with the JCTIMES team, we equipped three sets of your dies, with the widest being 2240MM. The application results have been excellent. We look forward to the domestic industry chain developing better products to meet the demand for higher-end products and applications.

Question 3: What are your expectations and suggestions for JCTIMES?

Answer:

In the future, AI will be an unavoidable aspect. The integration of AI technology with die heads is something I have seen JCTIMES starting to work on at this exhibition. The key in the future is to create a closed-loop system for the entire PET stretching process. This will require even higher digital and intelligent capabilities for the die heads. The uniformity, size, shape, and angle of the biaxially oriented crystalline structure are closely related to product performance, and these factors need to be fed back into the die head. As the level of intelligence increases, the entire production line could become a dark factory, fully automated and unmanned. This is highly exciting!
